The Caterpillar, Absolem from Wonderland, based on the book by Lewis Carrol and the Disney movie by Tim Burton.
The Caterpillar teaches Alice how to cope with the difficulties she encounters in Wonderland. He teaches her how to adapt to her environment when needed. Absolem is also a symbol for Alice's transformation. As he warps himself into a cocoon and is ready to transform into a butterfly, these scenes are intercut with Alice's decision-making process of becoming a champion and facing the Jabberwocky.
This statue of Absolem the caterpillar is smoking on his hookah... Whooooo are you? He is most likely smoking opium (Carroll never states this in any of the three books, but he does offer some clues).
12cm. Resin hand painted to look like vintage bronze / copper / brass - each one is slightly different which makes them so much more special.
