WICCAN WHEEL OF THE YEAR CALENDAR
Honour the changing seasons and lunar phases with rituals and celebrations.
The Wheel of the Year in the Southern Hemisphere is shifted by six months compared to the Northern Hemisphere, so the festivals align with the actual local seasons of Australia, New Zealand, and southern regions. The cycle begins around late March in autumn and moves through winter, spring, and summer
- Samhain: 30 April. The start of the dark half of the year, honoring ancestors and the veil thinning.
- Imbolc: 1–2 August. The first signs of spring; a time for purification and new beginnings.
- Beltane: 31 October. Celebrating the peak of spring, fertility, and the blooming of nature.
- Lugnasad (Lughnasadh): 1 February. The start of the grain harvest, offering gratitude for the first fruits of the earth.
The Solar Festivals (Quarters)
- Mabon: 20–23 March. Autumn Equinox; a period of balance, giving thanks, and preparing for winter.
- Yule: 20–23 June. Winter Solstice; the shortest day and longest night, celebrating the rebirth of the sun.
- Ostara: 20–23 September. Spring Equinox; a time of new growth, blooming, and renewed energy.
- Litha: 20–22 December. Summer Solstice; the longest day of the year, celebrating the peak of the sun's power.

SAGE SMUDGING RITUAL
1000+ year old tradition to clear negative energy.
- Open internal and external doors and windows.
- Light end of smudge wand or leaves, blow out the flame to leave it smoking. Use a dish to hold leaves & catch ash.
- Cleanse yourself before cleansing your space. To do this, direct the smoke in a circle around yourself.
- Move around your room / home and use a feather or your hand to waft the smoke into corners. Think about the negative energy leaving. Stay as long as you feel guided.
- Once finished, go out via the front door. Place the smoldering end in soil or use some salt to extinguish. Thank the energies for their assistance.
- Never let the burning sage stay unattended for any reason. Also, take care not to inhale too much of the smoke.

PALO SANTO RITUAL
1000+ year old tradition to restore tranquility, and bring good fortune. 100% ethical + organic. Ignite on one end, let the flame go out and then smoke will rise.
- Place on a heat proof dish.
- Dab the lit end in dirt or sand to extinguish.
- Never let the burning stick stay unattended for any reason. Take care not to inhale too much of the smoke.

OPEN YOUR THIRD EYE RITUAL
1. Cleanse your amethyst (selenite, incense or soil).
2. Lay on your back. Place amethyst on your forehead on the area between and just above your eyebrows (third eye).
3. Close your eyes, and count backwards from 10 to 1, taking a deep breath with each number. Imagine you are inhaling through your Third Eye, then exhale fully, wringing out your lungs as you would a rag.
4. Repeat til you feel a sense of heightened awareness.
5. Let your mind wander and your third eye see.
6. Once finished, get up slowly and place your amethyst near or with selenite to cleanse it.

CAR PROTECTION RITUAL
Hold your protection crystal in hand and chant: “Protected within I will be. Please keep my car trouble-free. And as I speak, so shall it be.” Keep the crystal in your car and repeat the chant often.

STIR THE CAULDRON RITUAL
While having a cup of coffee, tea or cooking dinner, stir deosil (anti-clockwise in the Southern Hemisphere) to attract something, or widdershins (clockwise in the Southern Hemisphere) to banish something.

SPELL BAG
Spell bags are an easy way to bring magick into your home. They can be created and tailored to fit any purpose, using any materials that you think would work best for what you’re wanting to invoke. Open bag up and chant words of power over it. Speak from the heart and soul and ask for protection regards to your home. Do the same with each item you place in the bag. Seal it shut and then chant over it again with words of power.

SEA WITCH RITUALS
- To become a sea witch, spend time with your feet or hands in the sand, listen to the soothing sounds of the waves.
- Collect ocean water to charge under the sun or moon for later use in spiritual cleansing, blessing tools, or creating protective space.

Take ritual walks along the beach, collecting treasures that call out to you, seashells, driftwood, seaweed etc to use in magical rituals and spells.
- Pour seawater into a dark bowl or shallow shell to scry (divine the future) by reading the reflections and movements of the water.
- Stand at the water's edge and place your hands into the water. Visualize the sea drawing away any heaviness, anxiety, or stagnant energy, dispersing it into the vast ocean. If you're not near the beach, you could also perform this at the kitchen sink with the tap running to wash away negativity.

Invoking and Banishing beach ritual
To invoke - draw a rune, sigil, or word in the wet sand as the tide is coming in, to "grow" or invite energy.
To banish - draw a rune, sigil, or word in the wet sand as the tide is going out, so the waves can wash it away and diminish it.

Protection Circle ritual
Cast a protective circle by etching it directly into the earth or sand in a clockwise direction. When the ritual is complete, simply wipe or wash the circle away in a counter-clockwise motion.

- To become a green witch spend time in and study nature.
- Take nature walks, sit in a forest or by a river, or just spend time in your garden. This will help you attune to natural energies and gain a better understanding of the cycles and rhythms of the earth.
- Create an altars that reflects your connection to nature. Gather stones, crystals, feathers, and leaves or whatever calls to you.
- Use symbols of the elements (earth, air, fire, water) to represent the balance and harmony found in nature.
- Learn about the magickal properties of herbs and their benefits. Grow your own herb garden and start experimenting with herbal remedies, teas, and potions.
- Reduce your environmental footprint, practice sustainable living, and advocate for environmental preservation.

- A Kitchen Witch is a form of witchcraft that centers around the hearth and home, weaving magic into everyday tasks like cooking, baking, and brewing. While they may not cast elaborate spells or perform grand rituals, Kitchen Witches understand the transformative power of intention, mindfulness, and the use of herbs, spices, and other ingredients as tools for magic.
- Set up a small altar in your kitchen with candles, crystals, and other meaningful objects. This space can serve as a focal point for your magical intentions and a reminder to infuse your cooking with magic.
- Before you start cooking, take a moment to set your intentions. Whether it's to create a meal that nourishes and heals, attracts love and abundance, or offers protection, infuse your food with the energy and purpose you desire.
- Slow down, be fully present, and infuse your cooking with love and intention. Whether you're chopping vegetables or stirring a pot of soup, every action can be a sacred act of magic.

BELL SPELL RITUAL
Hang it on or near your front door and chant “Guard my Home, Bells on/by the Door, Let Only Blessings walk on this Floor, Block all Evil and Dark Arts, May only Good Approach our Hearts. So Mote it Be!”

COURAGE CRYSTAL RITUAL
Charge your crystal first thing in the morning by holding it up to the sun and chanting “I charge thee with power in the name of the Aurora. Strong and brave I will now be. So Mote it Be!”

SELF HEALING RITUAL
1. Cleanse your agate crystal with selenite, incense or water.
2. Hold it in your open cupped hands. Name the bad energy you want to lose (fear, pain, symptoms of a condition).
3. As you hold the stone, imagine it getting heavier as it becomes filled with the bad energy from within you - as if you’re passing it to the stone.
4. When it begins to feel too heavy to hold, wash it in water and visualize the bad energy washing away.
5. Keep the crystal where light will shine on it (window sill).
6.Repeat the ritual as many times as needed. Stay patient and always use the same crystal.

SPELL CANDLES
Each candle can represent all of the elements.
- Air: Oxygen feeds and fans the candle flame, also the rising smoke.
- Earth: Solid wax forms the body of the candle.
- Water: Melting wax represents the fluid elemental state.
- Fire: The flame burning active and bright.
- Spirit/Ether: Represented by you—the practitioner—infusing the flame with your focused intention, consciousness, and soul.

Blue - Communication, loyalty, forgiveness, calming.
Purple - Devotion, wealth, healing, spirituality.

White - Healing, new beginnings, purity, clarity, and spiritual illumination.
Black - Cord-Cutting, protection, banishing negativity, grounding.

CLEANSE YOUR ENERGY CRYSTAL RITUAL
Connect with the element of water when you shower. Place the clear quartz crystal in your bathroom to cleanse you and the space whilst you shower. As the water washes over you, picture negative thoughts running off your body and traveling into the shower drain. Visualize a purifying white light coming from the shower head, surrounding you, cleansing and renewing your spirit.

Can be used during rituals, placed around doorways and windows, used to hold spell candles, for ritual baths, or to carry with you. Should not be ingested or used on food.

WITCHES HARVEST WREATH RITUAL
Originally Christmas wreaths were made from plants and were called harvest wreaths. A harvest wreath can be hung all year to bring protection through-out the year. Herbs, florals, bells, crystals and ribbons can be added to the wreath to aid your protection spell. When you hang it, chant: “Herbs of the earth, Spirits above, I request your powers to protect this property.” Blessed be.

How to Cast a Spell: Step-by-Step
- Set your intention. Pause and ask yourself what you truly want. Be as clear and specific as possible.
- Choose your tools. Your tools should match your intention and feel meaningful to you. A love spell might call for a pink candle, rose petals, and rose quartz. But don’t overthink it. Intention is more important than ingredients. At the end of the day, the most important thing to remember is: you are the spell. The power is inside you.
- Write your own or choose a spell: You can follow a spell from a trusted source or write your own.
- Set the space, this might mean casting a circle, cleansing the area, or doing a meditation. Or all of it and more.
- Go through each step of the spell slowly and deliberately. Keep your focus on your intention.
- Visualize the outcome. As you say the words or take the action, imagine your intention already fulfilled. Feel it in your body. What does life look like when the spell has worked? The clearer your vision, the stronger your spell
- Thank any spirits, ancestors, or forces you invoked. Snuff candles (don’t blow them out unless the spell calls for it) or meditate on your outcome while they burn down, and dispose of leftover ingredients.

SPELL CANDLE RITUAL
Make a clear intention for your spell. Write a note and put this under the candle holder or carve a symbol or word into the candle. Place the crystals around the candle to enhance the intention of the spell. Focus on your intention and light the candle. Think about your intention and watch the flame burn. Blow out the candle and keep the crystals close to you. Cleanse the crystals and relight the candle when you feel your intention needs a boost.

MEMORY / FOCUS SPELL CANDLE RITUAL
1. Trim the wick of a yellow or orange candle.
2. Dress the candle by rubbing it with a little oil (any you have will work, like almond, coconut, sunflower etc.) Then roll it in the moringa leaves supplied.
3. Place the candle and a crystal in a bowl of salt or soil so it stands upright.
4. Sprinkle the remaining moringa leaves in a circle around the candle and crystal whilst chanting what you need to remember. Such as “Focus, focus on my task, crystal help me, this I ask.”
5. Light the candle. Repeat the chant three to five times.
6. Keep your sodalite crystal near to help you remember or if you feel yourself losing concentration. Blessed be.

SUCCESS SPELL CANDLE RITUAL
1. Trim the wick of a green candle.
2. Place cinnamon stick and the candle in a bowl of salt or soil so both stand upright.
3. Add the crystal and your own trinkets around the bowl (like coins or anything you feel is lucky).
4. Light candle and the cinnamon stick (use it like incense so keep cinnamon smoking not lit).
5. Visualizing what you wish to achieve then chant “I can, I want, I deserve to thrive.” Repeat chant 3 times.
6. Sit and meditate on your goal while the candle is burning down. Blessed be.

LOVE SPELL CANDLE RITUAL
1. Trim the wick of a red or pink candle.
2. Scratch the word LOVE into the candle with a pin or the point of a knife (please be careful).
3. Place candle in a bowl of salt / soil so it stands upright.
4. Add trinkets for love around the bowl (like rose quartz crystal, flowers from your garden, a sprinkle of lavender).
5. On a piece of paper, write down what you deeply desire (passion, romance, reunite, self love etc).
6. Light the candle. Carefully pick up the candle, let the wax drip on the paper to cover the text then place the candle safely back in the bowl. Watch while the candle is burning down. Keep the waxed paper close in your purse or by your bedside. Blessed be.

PROTECTION SPELL CANDLE RITUAL
1. Trim the wick of a blue candle.
2. Dress the candle by rubbing it on the bay leaf supplied (you could also use oil).
3. Place the candle in a bowl of salt or soil so it stands upright.
4. Hold the bay leaf in your dominant hand. Draw a circle clockwise around you in the air with the bay leaf. Repeat at least 3 times. Chant the words “I am protected by this sacred circle, so mote it be.”
5. Light the candle, watch the smoke rise. Light the bay leaf from the candle then carefully place it in the bowl to burn.
6. Sit and watch while the candle is burning down. Blessed be.

RELIEVE ANXIETY SPELL CANDLE RITUAL
1. Trim the wick of a purple or pink candle.
2. Dress the candle by rubbing it with a little oil (any you have will work, like almond, coconut, sunflower etc.) Then roll it in chamomile.
3. Place candle in a bowl of salt or soil so it stands upright.
4. Place a crystal by the bowl.
5. Light the candle. Hold the crystal in your hand. Breathe in deeply through your nose. Breathe out slowly through your mouth. Chant the words “I am safe. I feel loved”. Repeat the chant slowly as many times as needed.
6. Sit and just breathing as candle is burning. Blessed be.

1. Trim the wick of a spell candle.
2. Place the candle in a bowl of salt or soil so it stands upright.
3. Light the candle and chant slowly: “Begone from me, worry and woe! I have the strength to break free and the wisdom to know. As I breathe this sacred smoke, my calm will grow. I call upon my inner guide to help me take it slow. My serenity and tranquility will overflow. With harm to none, blessings to all. So mote it be.”
4. Sit and relax. Allow the candle to self-extinguish. Before you continue about your day take three long deep breaths.

HOME PEACE SPELL RITUAL
1. Trim the wick of a purple candle.
2. Place candle in a bowl of salt / soil so it stands upright.
3. Draw a circle around the candle in the soil or salt.
4. Add trinkets from your house around the bowl in a circle (like a book, a leaf, a fav spoon, a photo, a crystal etc).
5. Light the candle and chant: “Begone from our home, worry and woe! Strength to break free and wisdom to know. As our home breathes this sacred smoke, the calm will grow. Serenity and tranquility will overflow. With harm to none, blessings to all. So mote it be.”

TRUST + CONFIDENCE SPELL RITUAL
1. Trim the wick of a purple candle to tap into your intuition and listen to spirits and the universe for guidance.
2. Place the candle in a bowl of salt or soil so it stands upright. Create an altar around your candle by placing personal items (trinkets / pictures), add a yellow crystal.
3. Don’t light the candle immediately. Let it sit for a while, let your instinct or guides tell you when to ignite the flame.
4. When it’s time, light the candle and chant: "I call upon my higher self and my spirit guides. Instill in me the confidence I need to achieve all I desire in life. I see myself moving through life with new confidence. I trust myself and present the best version of myself in all I say and do."
5. Whilst the candle is lit, sit and use the time to reflect. Allow the candle to self-extinguish.

MANIFESTATION SPELL RITUAL
1. Trim the wick of a green candle.
2. Put on your favourite music and write a wish on a piece of paper.
3. Dress the candle by rubbing it in oil and rolling in coffee supplied, then tie the paper around the candle with twine.
4. Place it in a bowl of salt or soil so it stands upright.
5. Light the candle. Now dance! This may seem strange as a way to connect to your wish, but movement is a great way to get the element of fire moving throughout your body and manifesting what you wished for. Blessed be.

MONEY SPELL RITUAL
1. Trim the wick of a green candle.
2. Dress it by putting a drop of essential oil onto the candle, whilst you rub it in, visualize money pouring into your lap.
3. Place the candle in a bowl of salt or soil so it stands upright.
4. Light the candle and chant: “Money, money come to me, In abundance, Three times three. May I be enriched in the best of ways, Harming none as it comes my way. This I accept, so may it be. Bring me money, Three times three.”
5. Blow out the candle and repeat the ritual for nine days. On the last day allow the candle to extinguish itself.
6. Don’t overthink it, the universe works in mysterious ways. The money may arrive in the form of a raise at work, a new job, more shifts, an unexpected gift or you finding a hundred dollar bill on the ground etc. Blessed be.

HIGHER POWER SPELL RITUAL
1. Trim the wick of a red candle.
2. Place candle in a bowl of salt / soil so it stands upright.
3. Add the chilli and crystal to bowl.
4. Light candle with intention. Fire represents transformation, let the flames bring to mind letting go of the fear and making room for power and strength in your life.
5. Chant the words “I step into my power. I am stronger than I think”. Repeat slowly as many times as needed.

HAPPY SPELL RITUAL
1. Trim the wick of a yellow or orange candle.
2. Dress the candle by rubbing it with a little oil (any you have will work), then roll it in dried orange, orangle oil or any citrus.
3. Place candle in bowl of salt / soil so it stands upright.
4. Write your happy intention on a small piece of paper.
5. Light the candle. Read what you wrote 3 times.
6. Fold the paper and put it somewhere you use regularly ie in your bag, under pillow, or your desk. Blessed be.

TEKTITE HOME PROTECTION RITUAL
Tektite was created when a meteorite struck the earth. Buried near your front door, tektite is said to bring you good luck and to protect your home from storms. Pop it in a pot plant by your front door.

1. Trim the wick of a pink candle.
2. Place candle in a bowl of salt / soil so it stands upright.
3. Draw a circle around the candle in the soil or salt.
4. Add the tiger eye crystals to the circle. Light candle & chant: “Keep me balanced, keep me grounded. Tiger’s eyes cut through lies. Keep me focused, keep me shielded. Tiger’s eyes cut through lies. Keep me true, keep me strong. Tiger’s eyes cut through lies. So mote it be.”
5. Once the candle has extinguished, break the circle and pop the crystals in your pocket, purse or bra.

- Waning moon - the phase between full and new. Ideal for release, letting go, banishing, and clearing. This is a powerful time for cord cutting, shadow work, or breaking habits.

Yule (Midwinter, Winter Festival)
Southern Hemisphere Date: June 21
Northern Hemisphere Date: December 21
The rebirth of the sun, bringing hope for the coming spring and symbolising renewal and the return of the light. Yule is celebrated as the winter solstice and marks the longest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere but the depth of winter in the Southern Hemisphere. It is a time of rebirth and renewal as the sun begins its return toward longer days, bringing hope for spring. Traditionally, Yule involved feasting, candle lighting, and fire rituals to honour community and light in darkness. Today it remains a festival of reflection, warmth, and hope.

A time of new beginnings and the awakening of the natural world after the dark winter months. Imbolc marks the midpoint between winter and spring. It is associated with the first signs of life stirring in the earth and with intentions for the coming fertile season. Lighting candles, planting seeds, and setting new-year intentions are all traditional practices, focusing on inner and outer growth.

Litha (Summer Solstice)

A time of abundance, growth, and the peak of the solar year. Litha marks the longest day of the year and is traditionally celebrated with bonfires, outdoor gatherings, and rituals honouring the sun’s life-giving energy. It’s a feast of light, vitality, and connection with nature at its most abundant.

Lammas
Southern Hemisphere Date: February 4
Northern Hemisphere Date: August 6–7
A time of the first harvest, when grains and fruits begin to ripen and are gathered. Lammas recognises the first harvest of the growing year. Traditionally, people gave thanks for the earth’s bounty, baked bread from newly harvested grain, and shared feasts with community. Today Lammas remains a festival of gratitude, sharing, and celebration of abundance.

Northern Hemisphere Date: November 6–7
A time to honour ancestors, reflect on life and death, and mark the onset of winter. Samhain is the festival that closes the seasonal cycle, honouring the ancestors and embracing the thinning of the veil between worlds. Rituals often involve remembrance, divination, and candle lighting to connect with loved ones who have passed.

RITUAL TOOLS
- Altar: A surface used to hold your ritual tools and serve as a focal point for spellwork.
- Athame: A double-edged ritual blade used to direct energy during spells and rituals. An athame is not used for cutting and should never be handled by anyone other than you.
- Wand: A symbolic tool for channeling energy. It is associated with the element of air or fire depending on the tradition. A stick you find outside that you like is perfect.
- Chalice: A cup representing the element of water. It may also symbolize the divine feminine.
- Pentacle: A flat disc inscribed with a symbol, sometimes a pentagram. The pentacle represents the element of earth, protection, and grounding.
- Cauldron: A vessel used for burning, mixing, or scrying.
- Incense Burner: Used to burn incense during ritual to cleanse the space and represent the element of air.
- Incense, sage or palo santo: This represents the element of air and can be tailored to a specific spell, energy, or a deity.
- Candles: These represent the element of fire and are used to focus energy and intention.
- Crystals: each crystal has different healing or spiritual properties. They can be used in rituals and spells or for cleansing etc.
- Journal, Grimoire and Book of Shadows: A grimoire is a formal magical text containing spells, correspondences, and ceremonial knowledge. A Book of Shadows is a personal, evolving record or journal of a witch’s practice: rituals, notes, dreams, and spell results.
