The defender of the universe Voltron in a field of poppies as part of a Claude Monet (Poppies) Art Poster Print. Pop culture at its best.

Have you ever looked at a classical work of art and thought you just couldn't relate to the subject matter? White, a self-proclaimed child of the 80s, takes famous paintings by the likes of Rembrandt, Vincent van Gogh & Leonardo da Vinci and "reinterprets" them with characters like Batman, Darth Vader, and The Muppets. This is just perfect, the best example of what a mash-up between “geek” and “art” would be. A fab parody for your wall.

Voltron: Defender of the Universe is an animated television series that features a team of space explorers that pilot a giant super robot known as "Voltron".

Claude Monet (1840 – 1925) was an French Impressionist genius who surmounted harsh criticism to shatter accepted artistic conceptions regarding composition. As in “Poppies,” the artist only painted patches of color and light that suggest an impression of a form, allowing the viewer’s eye to fuse them into meaningful shapes. Painting outdoors, Monet worked rapidly to capture the ever-changing effects of light, resulting in the free-flowing shapes, swift brushstrokes, and vibrant cascades of colour in “Poppies.”

Printed area 17" x 13"  plus white border.
